Common Questions
Answers about Saudi financial rules, our calculators, and how to use them.
Are all these calculators free?
Yes — all 4 calculators are completely free. No account, email, or payment is ever required. Every tool runs entirely in your browser and does not store or transmit your personal data.
What is the Zakat rate in Saudi Arabia?
ZATCA mandates a Zakat rate of 2.5% on eligible (zakatable) assets that have been held for one full lunar year and exceed the Nisab threshold. The Nisab is calculated based on the value of 85 grams of gold or 595 grams of silver, whichever is lower. Our Zakat Calculator applies the current ZATCA standard automatically.
How is End of Service calculated under Saudi Labour Law?
Under Article 84 of the Saudi Labour Law, an employee is entitled to half a month’s final salary per year of service for the first five years, and one full month’s salary per year thereafter. For resignations with less than two years of service, no gratuity is due. Our End of Service Calculator handles all scenarios — resignation, termination, and mutual agreement — automatically.
Do expatriates pay GOSI in Saudi Arabia?
No. Expatriates (non-Saudi employees) are not enrolled in GOSI’s social insurance scheme and thus no GOSI deductions are made from their salary. Saudi nationals contribute 10% of their salary, while the employer contributes 12%. Our Salary Calculator shows the difference between Saudi and expat net pay clearly.
Is there income tax in Saudi Arabia?
There is no personal income tax on salaries for Saudi nationals or residents. However, foreign companies and non-GCC shareholders may be subject to corporate income tax. VAT at 15% applies to most goods and services. Our calculators reflect this 0% personal income tax environment.
Which cities are covered by the Cost of Living Calculator?
Our Saudi Arabia Cost of Living Calculator covers Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Khobar, Mecca, Medina, and other major Saudi cities. It compares housing, groceries, transport, utilities, and dining expenses side-by-side to help you plan your budget or relocation.
Are these calculators compliant with 2026 Saudi regulations?
Yes. All calculators are built using the latest 2026 ZATCA guidelines, GOSI contribution rates, and Saudi Labour Law articles. We update them whenever official rates change to ensure accuracy for your financial planning.
